Ghalib is an Urdu and Persian poet and is a well-known personality. His real name is Mirza Beg Asadullah Khan. He was born on December 27, 1797, in Agra. In Pakistan and India, he is a famous Urdu poet and his poetry is included in the syllabus. You can find his shares in every part of life. This makes him unique and different from others in his field. 

Ghalib ancestors were Turk and belonged to Samarkand. His grandfather was a servant in Shah Alam’s army. Initially, His father got employed in Nawab Asif Dola in Lucknow, then later join as a servant in Hyderabad Dakan and then migrated to Alor where he was killed in a war. After that, his uncle took care of Mirza Ghalib but his uncle also died within just 2 years.

As per inheritance law, Asadullah Khan Ghalib received 750 rupees as a pension that continued till the War of Independence 1857. After the 1857 war, he served a very poor life.  Nawab of Ram Poor appointed Rs 100 as a pension to help him. 

He used to play chess and drink alcohol. This caused a lot of health issues and finally took his life on February 15, 1869. A golden era of Urdu poetry ended with his death. The world has never seen such a great and natural poet like him so far. Though he has died over a century ago, he is still alive in the memory of people that love Urdu. May ALLAH rest his soul in peace.
